“ A walk by the beautiful Sandhaven Beach in South Shields, followed by a pleasant meal in the highly rated ‘Italianish’ restaurant A unique fusion of Italian cuisine (all the chefs and the owner are Italian!) and Spanish cuisine, the presentation of dishes served makes the mouth water. Why Spanish? The Italian head chef spent a good amount of time in Spain - loved it - and incorporated Spanish elements in the cuisine served. We had some tapas, a vegetable Paella, and the Happy Hour menu - Zuppa Del Giorno & Empanadas as starters, and mains were authentic Spaghetti carbonara & Tagliatelle San Lorenzo. The spaghetti carbonara? Oooof. Amazing. Supposedly served with Guanciale, we don’t eat pork, so we asked for chicken. Superb. No cream cheese added at all - the texture, how rich it was. The Zuppa Del Giorno (a vegetarian soup) was Michelle’s favourite. A cheesy thick tomato based creamy soup with generous amounts of vegetables. There’s a reason as to why the reviews are so good here - go get some fresh sea air by the beach, and then have a nice Italian meal here ”
